Amazing Weddings in the Greenville area.
We love celebrating weddings here at Pettigru Place and fortunately we have lots of opportunities to do so. We have guests visiting for out-of-town ceremonies, brides & grooms on their wedding nights before catching a flight the next day, and whole families taking over the inn so they can enjoy each other’s company over a long wedding weekend. Other times we have guests looking for venues either here a Pettigru where we happily host micro weddings and elopements or larger facilities to celebrate their big day.
While Greenville has so many options to choose from (far too many to mention!) we wanted to help the future couple find a few stand outs in our area that come with rave reviews from some of our guests.
The Historic Greer Depot at 300 Randall Street in downtown Greer is certainly a unique and historic venue filled with charm. Beautiful wood beams, vaulted ceilings, rustic flooring, and exposed brick walls in this 112-year depot. Modern ADA-accessible restrooms, a large catering kitchen, and an outdoor rose garden with all the best vendors that Greer has to offer. You can see even more of their lovely photo gallery here as well as all their packages for your special day.
If history you are looking for a combination of history, nature, and downtown (with a dash of sweet romance) then the Kilgore-Lewis House is perfect for you. Built in 1838, but given as a wedding gift to the daughter and son of Josiah Kilgore in 1855 after they were wed in the parlor. This 5 plus acre property is run by the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs and the gardens and landscape show exactly that! There is even a natural spring running through the property.
One of the most beautiful weddings I have ever attended was at View Point at Buckhorn Creek. An outdoor wedding with timber frame pond house, timber frame pavilion with rock fireplace, and large patio with brick fireplace shaded by a tree top canopy. Professionally landscaped and with an unobstructed view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it even has a Koi Pond! This beautiful venue can host weddings up to 200 people.
The Venue at Rose Spring Farm in Travelers Rest has so many reasons to make this the perfect location for your wedding. The property is picture-perfect for the ceremony or all the wedding photos you could ever want. There are limitless options of combinations when it comes to décor, linen, and China. The thing that comes up in every review or write-up is Amy and Shane, the property owners. Every comment is referencing their hospitality, ease to work with, and genuine desire for the couple to have their special day go perfectly.
In the 1930’s the Greenville Garden Club started a garden below street level from an old rock quarry. Thanks to them The Rock Quarry Garden is a beautiful hidden gem that can host a ceremony for 100 or a small intimate affair for just the two of you. Using grasses that stay green and local flora to encourage natural beauty, you have the opportunity to enjoy this waterfall and babbling brook right on the edge of Cleveland Park.
A truly exquisite experience is Avenue. This rooftop venue has panoramic views of the downtown cityscape. With outstanding food from Table 301 and an emphasis on metropolitan elegance this is an unforgettable space to host your big day.
Minutes from Greenville’s downtown is the rustic lodge wedding of your dreams at Saskatoons. A long-running Greenville restaurant featuring wild-game, they now have a dedicated wedding venue. They have wedding experts to help you plan your day, amazing food, indoor and outdoor areas for dining, specialty areas for getting ready availible all day for you to relax beforehand, and a clear top tent so rain will not ruin (but actually enhance) your wedding ceremony.
And no upstate wedding list would be complete without talking about Pretty Place! The Fred W. Symmes Chapel, lovingly called Pretty Place offers breathtaking views from this open-air sanctuary. Part of YMCA Camp Greenville it sits atop Stone Mountain. The rolling hills of Greenville County are an amazing backdrop to your new union.
While all of these venues are amazing in their own ways, Pettigru Place is also a beautiful location for a small intimate ceremony for just the two of you or up to 10 guests. Hosted in our garden under the gazebo we offer three packages for your elopement or micro-wedding. With options that can include one of our bouquets, wedding cake, and a champagne toast or plan on staying the night and having the next morning’s breakfast served privately in the same gazebo you were married in. Any of these spaces would make your unforgettable day that much more incredible and we would love to be a part of it.
