April Innside Scoop of Fun Things to do in Greenville SC

Enjoying Wineries and Breweries in the fresh Spring breeze.

The temperate weather of the Greenville area makes spending time outside a must.  You can hike quiet trails, enjoy outdoor concerts, and stroll city parks and gardens (all without worrying how many layers you’ll need).  Whether you are looking for a relaxing break or trying to beat your best time on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, April in the upstate is a great place to enjoy a relaxing getaway.  And while you are out enjoying the weather there are many wineries and breweries with outdoor seating, entertainment, and creative spins on their unique libations.

  • Yee-Haw Brewery is known for it’s delicious and unpretentious beers, massive outdoor screen showing that day’s sporting event, and the chargrilled wings that can’t be beat!
  • Southernside Brewery is right off the Swamp Rabbit Trail by Unity Park with fire pits, picnic tables, and a 30-foot pergola, you don’t even have to go inside!
  • Liability Brewing has taken nostalgia and brought it from dream to reality with Star Wars and Comic references to colorful murals and beer flights served in a lunch box!
  • Fireforged is just off Main Street and not only has plenty of outdoor seating, but large full wall doors that open so even inside seating still has you enjoying the Spring air. They have small bites and frequently feature live music.
  • Magnetic South at Judson Mill has 16 beers on tap, features Cuban inspired food, and has Skeeball! Ok, they have pool tables, arcade machines, and outside are picnic tables and cornhole, but seriously Skeeball!  While at Judson Mill you can head to The Foundry to check out the music.
  • Carolina Bauernhouse brews are all eclectic and fun to try. Brewed in the European style they have sours, ales, ciders, and meads (love mead!)  Outside seating is varied, but the hammocks are my go-to.  Don’t forget to check out the food trucks while there.

You’d rather hear about the wine? No Problem!

  • City Scape Winery is at the edge of Greenville County with a light and airy indoor area as well as beautiful property with outdoor seating, a wine glass shaped pond, and “Pinot” the pig. Not only do they have the title of “Best Estate-Grown Wine” from the Palmetto Wine competition, they also have live music, food trucks, and classes.  Just check their schedule.
  • Eagle Mountain Vineyards and Winery is located in Travelers Rest. Bright colored sculpture surrounded by flowers in a scuplture trailNot only do they have plenty of outdoor (comfortable) seating, they also have a sculpture trail you can follow.  There is a Bistro planned to open in the summer, for now you can order one of their small charcuterie boxes or you’re welcome to bring your own food while you enjoy the live music on the weekends.  PS ask for Billie while you’re there!  She is so helpful with anything you may need.
  • This next one is a two-for-one! Victoria Valley Vineyards at Table Rock has terrace dining overlooking 47 acres of vines here at South Carolina’s foothills.  Kennington Family Winery (The Kennington Family also owns Victoria Valley) has a scenic location and relaxed ambiance that begs you to enjoy their property.  Small bites, live music, unique wine, and special juice blends (so no one feels left out) make this a property worth visiting.

Now that you know where to “Wet your whistle” you can plan the rest of your trip to Greenville around all the other exciting things to do.  These are some of our favorites, but check VisitGreenvilleSC.com for an even bigger list of activities.
