Make a cold winter night cozy with a room with a fireplace.
January is a wonderful time of the year to visit Greenville and relax from the hustle and bustle of the December holidays. You can unwind in one of our three bedrooms with electric fireplaces, eat one of our wonderful gourmet breakfasts by the fireplace in our dining room, and enjoy one of the many restaurants downtown that feature a cozy fire going when you come in from the cold.
We have three guest rooms that feature electric fireplaces. The Swan’s Gate with its Romantic king, four-poster bed and large two-person jacuzzi tub, the Brass Giraffe with its king bed and large rainforest shower, or the Rosamunde with a queen bed and a custom walk-in shower. The electric fireplaces add a wonderful flickering fire ambiance or you can turn up the full fire heat mode when you come in from the outside and need a little more warmth. Our dining room also has an electric fireplace with its unique carved mantel that makes our chef’s culinary creations taste even better.
Downtown
Soby’s New South Cuisine has always been one of our favorites, with their large stone fireplace they are a happy inclusion to this list. Warm yourselves up while enjoying fried green tomatoes or shrimp and grits as you watch this bustling restaurant cater to both Greenville regulars and out of town guests. The Grand Bohemian features multiple fireplaces. You can savor seared scallops with pomegranate molasses at Between the Trees or head to Sip & Bower for small plates and their rare bourbon collection. Warm fires and beautiful views. Fabulous rooftop views, specialty cocktails, light menu, and fire tables for you to sit at are all at Up on the Roof .
Gather GVL has a unique and casual atmosphere at its fire table with bar seating around it that helps keep you toasty while eating in the fresh air. Urban Wren is one of our guest favorites with a fireplace area, making it a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail before dining on one (or more) of their seasonal small plates, sharables, or entrees.
Worth the Drive
For over fifty years The Peddler has hosted special occasions. This unique Greenville original has 4 fireplaces inside of this 100-year-old building surrounded by trees on the north side of town. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is located on Woodruff Road. This American fare steakhouse prides itself on a scratch-made menu and cooking over a hardwood grill. If you’re looking for more than your average steak dinner, try Saskatoon Lodge. Of course, they have steak, chicken, and seafood as well as elk, kangaroo, and Ostrich. They serve a seasonal mix of game at the lodge located on nine beautiful acres. For a mix of contemporary and rustic visit City Range Steakhouse on Haywood Road. You can have a delicious romantic dinner (Hello braised short ribs with pimento cheese mash and asparagus!) inside by the fire or share appetizers and a bottle of wine (half-priced on Tuesdays) on the covered patio with the fireside bar. Haywood mall is home to Grill Marks. This specialty burger restaurant features multiple fries and freak shakes as well as a live fire to enjoy. Whistlestop at the American Café, in Travelers Rest has plenty of railroad memorabilia as well as a rustic fireplace. Their menu ranges from burgers and pizza to catfish and ribs. And for small bites and cocktails with an in-wall fireplace stop by The Captain at Hotel Harness. Built from reclaimed barn wood, you will certainly feel cozy.
