          If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, Greenville has so many possibilities!  We have chosen some of our guests’ favorite romantic experiences and listed them for you below.

Before the holiday season gets into high gear it’s wonderful to set time aside with your sweetheart.  Between mountain drives, artist galleries, and food for everyone’s taste buds Greenville can be a great little getaway.

 

November 1 -3 

November 1 – Greenville’s Metropolitan Arts Council presents their First Friday Gallery Crawl – On the first Friday of every month navigate Greenville’s visual arts scene each month as galleries and venues are open to the public from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.  Click here for participating galleries.

November 1 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – Come and cheer on Greenville’s Hockey team, The Swamp Rabbits as they take on The Savannah Ghost Pirates.  The puck drops at 7:05PM.

November 1 – Alchemy Comedy Theatre – MotherL*ver: A Solo show about the lighter side of tragedy – Derek Sheen has always been known for his dark approach to comedy, but MotherL*ver finds Sheen exploring new territory, grief and hope.  It’s a show about Sheen’s mother, Barbara Ellen.  Their incredibly complicated relationship and how she taught him to reconcile his fear through humor…by basically exposing him to a tremendous amount of trauma.  The show is a collection of insanely dark and hilarious stories wrapped around the concept of finding hope, in even the most hopeless of situations, through laughter.

November 1- Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium – Clint Black, one of the truest traditionalists in music over the last three decades, will celebrate the 35th anniversary of his debut album, Killin’ Time, on tour in 2024

November 1-2 – Judson Mill – The Hog & Barrel is a two-day festival celebrating bourbon, bbq, and bacon!  With multi-course dinners, craft cocktails, and sipping experiences this will be a weekend worth tasting.

November 1 – 2 – Gunter Theatre at The Peace Center – Sh!tfaced Shakespeare – The smash-hit, internationally acclaimed, award-winning, multi sell-out fringe phenomenon is coming to the Peace Center with their version of Romeo and Juliet.  Featuring Shakespeare’s most famous feuding family, cousins without a cause, and so many faux deaths it makes daytime TV look good.

November 1 – 3 – The Greenville Theatre – Dial M for Murder – When a gold-digging husband’s perfect crime does not go as planned, blackmail, passion, and revenge ensue in this edge-of-your-seat murder mystery. This classic Broadway play, which inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece film Dial M For Murder starring Grace Kelly, is sure to keep audiences guessing until the very end. Don’t miss this dangerous web of lies as they unfold on stage this Halloween season. Shows Thursday – Saturday at 7:30, Sunday at 3:00

November 2 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – For King & Country: Unsung Hero Tourthe quadruple GRAMMY®-winning progressive pop artist-songwriters – what music can do, as a positive and emotional force in people’s lives, is what drives the Sydney, Australia-born, Nashville-based duo.

November 2 – Peace Concert Hall – An Early Christmas Celebration with The Greenville ChoraleHodie by British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams tells the Christmas story with enlightening poetry interspersed throughout. Brahms’ beautiful “Nanie” (Song of Lamentation) sets a poem by Friedrich von Shiller lamenting “even the beautiful must die,” but affirming the result of a life well-lived that the “beauty” of the departed will live on. J. S. Bach ended his ultimate masterwork, MASS IN B-MINOR, with a profound setting of “Dona nobis pacem” (Give us peace). In our world today, this affirming prayer is needed more than ever. Closing the program is “St. Patrick’s Hymn” a work commissioned by the Chorale from composer Dan Forrest. The text is both a prayer an affirmation that God will “pilot us” through difficult times; He will give us wisdom and protect and direct us and “always be ours this day and forevermore.”

November 2 – Simpsonville Activity Center – Simpsonville Holiday Fair is back for you to Enjoy a day of stress-free holiday shopping with plenty of unique vendors all in one building. Admission is FREE. Canned goods will be accepted to support the local foodbank. Proceeds from this event support local charities.

November 2 – Center for the Arts, Greer – Day of the Dead Festival & Artist Market – Join us for a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture at our Day of the Dead Festival! Experience festive music, art, and food while learning about this rich cultural tradition, as well as the ties between this celebration and the monarch butterfly, a creature that is also special to Greer because of its designation as the first Monarch City USA in South Carolina. This family-friendly event will be indoor-outdoor at the Center for the Arts, 804 Trade Street in Greer, and will also include a parade, artist market, traditional crafts, and education about Monarch conservation.

November 4 – 10

November 6 – Peace Concert Hall – Leela James – American singer-songwriter, Leela James, is a prominent figure in soul and R&B, known for her authenticity, vocal prowess, and unwavering commitment to her craft.  Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and James Brown, her soulful voice and emotional performances has earned her a dedicated fan base and respect within the music industry.

 

November 8, 9, & `0 – Downtown Greenville –  What happens when you close off the downtown streets, and bring out representatives from 60+ local restaurants, with over 250 menu items, 6 stages offering 80+ bands, and 50+beer and wine taps, together for a 4 day festival?  Well, you have a great time, that’s what!  Greenville’s favorite festival, Fall for Greenville will have your mouth watering as you stroll Main Street and sample a little bite of this and a little bite of that from your favorite Greenville restaurants.

November 9 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – Come cheer on Greenville’s Hockey Team, The Swamp Rabbits, as they take on the Atlanta Gladiators.  The puck drops at 7:05 PM.

November 9 – 10 – The Gunter Theater at The Peace Center – The Greenville Symphony presents Peter and the Wolf with Guest narrator Mimi Wyche – For those of us that find our way to the concert hall as adults, Peter and the Wolf may be the piece most connected with happy childhood memories.  Bring the whole family, or relive the piece with friends. Grieg’s enchanting Peer Gynt Suite features two of the most famous melodies in western music; the beautiful Morning Mood movement and the fun and mysterious In the Hall of the Mountain King.  From grandparents to littles, and everyone in between, this is music that you know, love, and can enjoy together.

November 11 – Lunch & Lit hosted by M. Judson Booksellers at Soby’s – Join authors Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, and Karen White at Soby’s to celebrate the release of their book, The Author’s Guide to Murder! Your ticket includes entry to the event, a three course lunch, and a signed copy of the book. Noon – 1:30 PM

November 11 – Peace Concert Hall – Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse in Concert -Building on the success of the sold-out global shows of the first Oscar®-winning Spider-Man™ animated Spider-Verse film, this upcoming spectacle will feature the movie showcased on a colossal HD screen, complemented by a diverse ensemble of musicians and instrumentalists performing the film’s iconic score and soundtrack live. This extraordinary lineup includes a full orchestra, a skilled scratch DJ on turntables, as well as percussion and electronic instrumentalists.

November 13 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – Come cheer on the Greenville’s hockey team, The Swamp Rabbits, as they take on the Savannah Ghost Pirates.  This is a school day game, beginning at 10:30 AM.

November 13 – Peace Concert Hall – Air Supply – Celebrating their 40th Anniversary in 2015, Air Supply remains a beloved act, consistently delighting audiences with their timeless music.  Known for Russell Hitchcock’s soaring tenor voice and Graham Russell’s masterful songwriting, Air Supply’s live shows have captivated audiences worldwide, their songs have achieved millions of radio plays, and their performances for royalty and in large-scale international events have been career highlights.

November 14 – Peace Concert Hall – American Railroad: Silkroad Ensemble with Riannon Giddens – Under the leadership of Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens, Silkroad is a Grammy Award-winning musical ensemble, working to inspire collaboration in innovative ways that add more equity and justice into the world through the power of the arts.  In it’s newest initiative, American Railroad, the ensemble illuminates the impact of African American, Chinese, Irish, and other immigrant laborers who built the Transcontinental Railroad, and the indigenous communities who were displaced by it.  Exploring the dissemination of cultures across the United States, the railroad was to North America what the Silk Road was to China, the Far East, and Europe.  As highlighted in the New York Times, Silkroad’s newest undertaking challenges modern perceptions of the American identity by highlighting stories untold and voices unheard. The program features new, original music written by Ensemble members and outside composers.

November 15 – Peace  Concert Hall – Sal Vulcano: Everything’s Fine Tour  Comedian, actor and producer Sal Vulcano brings his new tour – Everything’s Fine – to Greenville this Fall.  Vulcano is best known for co-creating, executive producing and starring in TBS’ hidden camera comedy show Impractical Jokers,  and in recent years, Vulcano’s audience as a solo comedian has shown tremendous growth. He is coming off a solo national stand-up tour, which saw him sell out shows in 60 markets, and now embarking on another – the Everything’s Fine Tour.

November 16 – Market at the Mill – Mistletoe at the Market Christmas gift bags .Join us for our 5th annual Misletoe at the Market featuring over 100 vendors in addition to our permanent vendors set up in our event center to bring the spirit of the holidays for you to enjoy and find that magical gift for your treasured loved ones.  This event is free to the public.

 

November 16 – Peace Concert Hall – Nikki Glasser: Alive and Unwell Tour – Nikki Glaser has honed her shockingly honest, no-holds barred style of comedy, solidifying herself as one of the funniest voices in comedy today.  With multiple stand-up specials and late-night tv appearances in which she jokes about her most humiliating moments as a woman in the modern world, Nikki’s past and current struggles with anorexia, depression, and anxiety are fair game in her stand-up. She has become a complete open book on mic for the laughs and as the empowering voice for women that she yearned for as a confused adolescent.

 November 16 – 17 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – Come cheer on Greenville’s Hockey team, The Swamp Rabbits, as they take on the Florida Everblades.  The games both nights begin at 7:05 PM.

 November 19 – M Judson Booksellers – Page Pairings – A drop in, book inspired tasting at downtown’s favorite book shop!  Meet Charlotte romcom author, Claire Gilmore, with her new book, The Perfect Fit!

November 19 – 21 – Bob Jones University –  Cyrano de Bergerac – Edmond Rostand’s French classic is back on the BJU stage—this time featuring a new adaptation of Brian Hooker’s timeless translation. Don’t miss this swashbuckling tale of romance, bravery, and virtue!

November 21 – Radio Room – Sixpence None the Richer will be playing their original music as well as famous covers at 8pm.

November 20 – 30 – United Community Ice on Main – an open outdoor ice skating rink in the heart of downtown Greenville, South Carolina. This year, this winter tradition and favorite activity of many in the Upstate will open November 20, 2024. Located at Village Green near the Courtyard Marriott, you’ll truly be skating in a winter wonderland when you come skate with us! The rink is open 7 days a week, excluding Christmas Day.

November 22 – The 39th Annual Festival of Trees, to support the expansion of cancer care at Bon Secours Saint Francis, begins today to kick off the holiday season here in the upstate.  Every year, local florists, schools and organizations sponsor and decorate over 50 trees, to be displayed at two hotels in downtown Greenville.  Plan to see the trees at The Courtyard by Marriott at 50 West Broad Street, and at the Hyatt Regency at 220 North Main Street.

November 22 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – Come cheer on Greenville’s Hockey team, The Swamp Rabbits, as they take on The South Carolina Stingrays.  The puck drops at 7:05PM.

November 22 – 24 – The SC  Children’s Theatre – The Best Christmas Pageant Ever – The story of the Herdmans comes to life in a new, musical version never before seen on the SCCT stage!  Adapted from the play by Barbara Robinson, and written by Jahnna Beachman and Malcolm Hillgartner, this holiday treat is for all ages.  The rambunctious Herdman gang lies, steals, bullies other kids, and even smokes smelly cigars. The only safe place to hide from them used to be church.  This changes when the entire “herd” shows up in search of pizza, cookies and Hawaiian Punch, and ends up in the Christmas pageant. Grace, the novice director in the play, is torn between getting rid of the Herdmans, or letting them stay at the risk of producing the worst pageant in the history of the world.  This night at the theatre should be a part of any family’s holiday plans!

November 22 -24 – Embassy Suites – Retro-Toy Con returnsRetro toy collection with celebrity guests, panels, cosplay, lobby swap, and vendors from around the country!  Not to mention the Godzilla Dinner event!

 

 

November 23 – 24 –  Peace Concert Hall – The Greenville Symphony presents Grieg’s Piano Concerto –  Prepare for an enchanting evening of musical exploration as we delve into the depths of Sarah Gibson’s mesmerizing composition, warp & weft, setting the stage for a journey through Norwegian landscapes with Grieg’s timeless Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op.16. The grand finale of the evening unfolds with the vibrant and stirring melodies of Schumann’s Symphony No. 1, promising an unforgettable concert experience filled with passion, virtuosity, and musical mastery.

November 24 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena – Come cheer on Greenville’s Hockey team, The Swamp Rabbits, as they take on the Jacksonville Icemen, beginning at 3:05 PM.

 

November 25 – 30

November 25 – Main Street Bridge – Gratefull GVL Each year, this event brings together thousands of Greenvillians for a communal potluck meal during the week of Thanksgiving from 11:30 – 1:30.

 November 27 – Peace Concert Hall – Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis – Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis has been America’s favorite holiday tradition for more than 35 years!  Grammy Award winner Chip Davis has created a show that features Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics in the distinctive Mannheim sound.  The program includes 15 musicians playing more than 20 instruments agains a backdrop of dazzling multimedia effects – capturing the spirit of the season in an immersive yet intimate setting.
