May Innside Scoop of Fun Things to do in Greenville SC

All about the Greenville, SC Farmers Markets – a fun way to spend a Saturday.

There is nothing better than the joy of a Saturday morning spent meandering through the colorful stalls of a bustling farmers market: – the sights the sounds, the smells!  As a fervent admirer of all things fresh and local, I wanted to share with you the wonderful farmers markets that are within half an hour’s drive of the bed and breakfast.  From the large to the very small, these farmers’, artists and craftsmen’s displays are one of the hidden gems of Greenville and the small towns nearby

  • TD Saturday Market on Main in downtown Greenville (.6 miles) – This FarmersMulticolored bouquet in bucket near chalkboard sign Market is an easy walk through the Pettigru Historic District to Main Street which is pedestrian only to allow the many farmers and artisans to display their work. One of my favorite stalls is the local artisanal cheese stall. They offer a delectable selection of handcrafted cheeses made from fresh, locally sourced milk. Sample a variety of cheese varieties and chat with the cheesemakers to learn about the art of cheese production. It’s a must-visit for cheese enthusiasts! In addition to the bustling market stalls, don’t miss the chef demonstrations at the TD Saturday Market. Talented local chefs showcase their skills and share cooking tips using fresh, seasonal ingredients from the market. It’s a great opportunity to learn new recipes and cooking techniques while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Greenville. Open Saturdays in May thru October from 8:00am to 12:00pm

  • Simpsonville Farmers Market (11 miles) – A local florist sets up a stall with stunning arrangements of seasonal blooms, perfect for brightening up your home or gifting to a loved one. Take a moment to admire the vibrant colors and fragrant scents of the flowers. Make sure to check out the live music performances. Grab a snack (though you will be full from our wonderful breakfast!) from one of the food vendors and relax to the sounds of talented artists while browsing the market offerings. Open Saturdays from 8:00 to 12:00 from May 13th to the end of September.
  • Hub City Farmers Market in Spartanburg (26 miles) – -The Upstate’s longest-running farmers market has its emphasis on local, sustainable, and available to everyone. Not only do they have great options in seasonal produce, local honey, and artisans, they also offer a mobile produce vendor in the area to ensure no one gets lost in a food desert!  Keep an eye out for special tasting events at the Hub City Farmers Market. Local producers often offer samples of their products, allowing visitors to try before they buy. It’s a fantastic way to discover new flavors and products while supporting the community of vendors at the market. Don’t miss the farm-to-table food truck at the Hub City Farmers Market. This popular vendor serves up delicious dishes made with ingredients sourced directly from the market vendors. From savory tacos to flavorful salads, you can enjoy a freshly prepared meal using the freshest produce available. It’s a convenient and tasty option for a quick bite to eat while shopping.
