The Best Outdoor Restaurants in Downtown Greenville
April is one of the most beautiful times of the year to visit Greenville, South Carolina. With an average daytime temperature of 74 degrees, everyone is happy to get outside after 4 months of bitter cold (at least to us Southerners!) Whether you want to go hiking in one of the many parks around Greenville, bike on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, or attend one of the many events going on in Greenville, April weather will bring a smile to your face.
In addition to playing outside, it is also time to enjoy one of the many great restaurants with outdoor dining downtown. We’ve listed our favorite outdoor restaurants below. From fine dining to casual, there is sure to be one whose menu delights your taste buds while dining alfresco!
1) Pomegranate On Main This Persian restaurant has been a staple for years bringing guests back time and again. Lamb, rice, hummus, evenings with half-priced bottles of wine, and live music on Wednesdays. All are located across from Falls Park.
2) Passerelle Bistro overlooking the Reedy River Falls and the Liberty Bridge . Worth the wait in line for the Croque Monsieur, Bistro Burger, or their French Toast Monte Cristo with Brie and Blueberry Lavender Jam!
3) Trattoria Giorgio Pappardelle Bolognese served in a private garden courtyard with wine and crusty bread is only a portion of what awaits you at this fine Italian Main St. restaurant.
4) Sulley’s Steamers Before taking a seat outside of this counter service restaurant you will find yourself reading and smiling your way through their creative bagel sandwiches. With meats, veggies, and a mix and match of condiments you may have a hard time choosing. If that’s the case, get my favorite, the Neighborino!
5) Roost With organic and regional fare along with a great view of music at Noma Square as well as a cascading water feature with a fire pit in the center, Roast is a great place to enjoy outdoor dining.
6) Soby’s Shoe shop turned premiere Greenville restaurant, Soby’s has plenty outdoor seating with heaters in case the finicky April weather doesn’t want to cooperate! Braised short ribs, fried green tomatoes, and of course their shrimp and grits are all great ways to enjoy a night in town.
7) Grill Marks is a great location on Main St with covered outdoor seating. Perfect spot to people watch while enjoying tasty burgers, giant freak shakes, or sweet potatoes fries. Celiac or gluten free? Not to worry! They take it very seriously and bake their gluten free bread in house.
8) Maestro Bistro & Dinner Club features Argentinean cooking and is beautiful place to enjoy fine dining outdoors. From pecan crusted lamb to fresh shrimp scampi to anything from their wine list, you will be spoiled.
9) Larkin’s is known for rich flavorful steaks with dining availible both inside and out. Don’t forget to try overlook their cocktail menu or Crack Pie on the dessert list either!
10) Between The Trees at The Grand Bohemian offers a spectacular view of Falls Park while serving up delicious fare including a Chilean Sea Bass with Chorizo and (my favorite!) Beurre Blanc.
This list was so hard to make! Luckly, Visit Greenville has made a list of all the outdoor and roof top dining in the area including the Swamp Rabbit Cafe right on the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
